ATM Support Engineer (Full Time, Contract;Hybrid in Valparaiso, Indiana)

Optomi, in partnership with one of our clients, is seeking an ATM Systems Engineer to support ATM hardware, software, testing, and troubleshooting within a dedicated ATM lab environment. This role focuses heavily on deploying and maintaining ATM systems, performing software downloads and upgrades, validating machine functionality, and diagnosing hardware, software, and transaction processing issues. The ATM Systems Engineer will work hands-on with ATM platforms such as Diebold Nixdorf, NCR, and Hyosung, support ATM technicians with technical troubleshooting, and collaborate with internal engineering teams and vendors to ensure system reliability and performance. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on ATM support experience, familiarity with ATM hardware and software platforms, and the ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical issues with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities :

• Deploy, configure, maintain, and support ATM hardware, software, operating systems, and associated technologies.
• Perform ATM software downloads, installations, upgrades, and functionality testing within a dedicated ATM lab environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve ATM hardware, software, communication, and transaction processing issues.
• Diagnose and repair ATM peripheral issues involving card readers, cash dispensers, receipt printers, and PIN pads.
• Support ATM technicians with technical troubleshooting, system diagnostics, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with ATM vendors, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain system reliability.
• Perform root cause analysis, document technical issues, and implement corrective actions to improve ATM performance and availability.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting ATM systems, hardware, software, or banking technology infrastructure.
• Direct experience working with ATM manufacturers and platforms such as Diebold Nixdorf, NCR, Hyosung, or similar vendors.
• Experience installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining physical ATM machines.
• Experience performing ATM software deployments, upgrades, release testing, and functionality validation.
• Experience working in ATM lab or testing environments, diagnosing issues and supporting ATM technicians.
• Knowledge of ATM transaction processing, terminal driving, communication protocols, payment switches, and system integrations.
• Strong technical troubleshooting experience with ATM operating systems, Windows/Linux environments, networking, and hardware/software diagnostics.
