Description: The position is for an RN in Labor & Delivery/Postpartum. The facility has 174 licensed beds and is not a trauma designated center. The unit consists of 18 beds for Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum care. The unit also has 5 OB triage rooms and 2 OB operating rooms. The unit averages 40-65 deliveries per month. Patient types include LDRP and GYN surgical cases. Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines for RNs. Each shift has 1 CNA assigned. The required skill set includes the capability to perform LDRP support tasks. Core staffing includes 4-5 nurses, a receptionist or health unit coordinator, and 1 charge nurse per shift. The hospital employs hospitalists or OB physicians available 24/7 along with pediatricians and lactation consultants. No remote telemonitoring is provided. Technological equipment includes EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems. Monitors in use include Phillips monitors and GE Corometrics fetal monitors. RNs may be required to float within the region and scope of practice to other facilities as needed. Weekend rotation is every other weekend, and travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off are limited to 6 days excluding holidays, with adjustments made as needed at the end of the contract. Shift times are from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with a schedule cycle every 6 weeks.
