Demonstrate collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow. Practice standard precautions and enforce safety regulations according to hospital policies. Interpret evaluations and test results to determine appropriate treatment plans in consultation with interdisciplinary healthcare team. Respond immediately to all Code Blue emergencies, providing CPR per American Heart Association guidelines and perform other duties as directed. Perform respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and recommend the most efficient delivery method per protocol. Obtain, analyze and report findings of arterial blood gases and co-oximetry; perform quality controls as needed. Conduct airway maintenance including use of manual resuscitators, placement of oral and nasal pharyngeal airways, and airway suctioning. Initiate, maintain, transport and monitor mechanical ventilators, including basic conventional modes of ventilation per policy and procedure. Use patient assessment skills, protocols and chart review to confer with multidisciplinary team and determine efficacy of therapy; make recommendations and changes per department protocol. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Patient‑care skills for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations as required by hospital needs. Education and Experience Associate degree required. Field of study: Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science. 1+ years of critical care experience preferred. Licenses and Certifications State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – required. NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – required. Basic Life Support – CPR (BLS) – required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – required. Physical Requirements Physical requirements may vary by unit or state.
