About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical / Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Chest tube management - Administration of medications such as Diltiazem, Heparin, Lasix, Insulin, and Amiodarone - Management of lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients - Care for tracheostomies and laryngectomies - Telemetry experience - Complex wound care - Central line care and maintenance, including blood draws Description: The position involves working on a medical/surgical unit. The unit focuses on neuromuscular disorders, meningitis, and serves as a primary stroke center. Patient populations include those with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and surgical patients. Surgical cases may include tumor resections for brain and spine, spinal surgeries, and head and neck cancer. The facility is recognized as a Level IV epilepsy center providing advanced monitoring with implanted electrodes and scalp leads. On-call duties are part of the position.
