Full Stack Developer .NET / C# / SQL Server & Test Automation

Location : West Sacramento, CA - Onsite

Contract Term: Up to 24 months, with an option to extend for up to 36 additional months

Estimated Duration: Approximately 172 hours per month

Work Location: Primarily on-site at Client headquarters in West Sacramento, California; remote work only when approved by Client and its Information Security Office, Work Schedule During Client business hours; schedules require written pre-approval. Work on California State holidays requires written approval.

Position Summary

My Client is seeking experienced Full Stack Developers to support software development, testing, and documentation for Benefit Connect, a modern web-based pension administration system built on the Sagitec Neospin framework and supported by Microsoft .NET. The role combines hands-on web application development using .NET/ASP.NET, MVC, C#, JavaScript and SQL Server with substantial test automation, test planning, test data preparation, defect analysis, and requirements-to-test-case activities. The selected resource will work with Client business areas, development teams, and QA/testing teams under the direction of the Benefit Connect Technical Project Director or designee.

Mandatory Qualifications (MQs)

At least 10 years of experience within the last 15 years working as a Software Developer leading and participating in the technical implementation of software/systems/applications automating complex business processes, which must include: designing and developing web-based applications using Microsoft .Net and associated technologies such as ASP.Net; designing and developing web-based applications using MVC architecture; developing web applications using C# using Object-Oriented Concepts; developing user interface for web applications using jQuery, JavaScript, HTML and XML; and developing testing utilities for web applications to aid in Unit and System Integration Testing.

At least 10 years of experience within the last 15 years working as a Software Developer leading and participating in the technical implementation of software/systems/applications automating complex business processes, which must include: designing and developing web-based applications using Microsoft SQL Server and associated technologies; understanding and interpreting the data model of an existing application; and writing SQL queries performing complex tasks on the database, including database stored procedures containing complex joins as well as grouping and sorting logic.

At least 8 years of experience within the last 15 years implementing automated testing on projects with large organizations, leading or participating in the technical implementation of software/systems/applications performing all of the following: implementing new automated tests based on existing manual test cases and business requirements; proposing and creating shared libraries of test steps that can be integrated into cross-application test suites; assisting in development of tools to speed organization-wide adoption of automated testing and maximize reuse/commonality across teams; partnering with other teams to support automated regression testing practices; using Java, Python, Shell Scripting, or another language as part of test automation; shortening application regression testing windows via automation; and writing automation tests to improve test coverage.

At least 8 years of experience preparing (i.e., setting and resetting) software testing harnesses, including test tools, test environments, and formulating test data sets and test cases for various types of testing (e.g., system test, functional test, performance test, regression test).

At least 8 years of experience producing the following documents: testing requirements, testing platform architecture, test plan and strategy, test specifications, and test configuration for various tests such as integration testing, system testing, regression testing, stress and loading testing.

At least 5 years of experience performing data manipulation, reporting and validation activities (writing SQL queries).

At least five (5) years of experience using industry-leading defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla, HP ALM, JAMA).

At least five (5) years of experience analyzing business, functional, and technical requirements and translating them into test requirements and test cases.

At least five (5) years of experience analyzing test results, generating test scripts, identifying defects and/or anomalies, and fine-tuning test data or test cases.

5 years or more years of experience working with requirement elicitation methodologies, documenting business use cases, business rules, functional and nonfunctional requirements.

Desirable Qualifications (DQs)

1. Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills.

1. SQL Server database experience with queries using T-SQL (Transact-SQL), stored procedures, triggers, user-defined functions, and views.

1. Two (2) or more years of experience performing parallel testing and automated testing.

1. Proven ability to work both in a team environment and independently.

1. Working knowledge of database administration tasks pertaining to deployment and configuration of multi-tier web applications with Microsoft SQL Server as the backend.

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related Engineering field from a government-accredited/sanctioned college or university. Client reserves the right to request a copy of the diploma.

1. Ability to follow the required hybrid working model, including working on-site two to three days per week, or as required by Client, at its West Sacramento headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) while supporting application analysis, design, development, testing, maintenance, and documentation.

• Design and develop technical frameworks for new applications and enhancements to existing browser-based business applications.

• Develop and customize secure web applications using Microsoft .NET, ASP.NET, MVC architecture, C#, object-oriented programming, jQuery, JavaScript, HTML, and XML.

• Develop testing utilities to support unit testing and system integration testing.

• Work with Microsoft SQL Server, interpret existing application data models, and develop complex SQL queries and stored procedures using joins, grouping, and sorting logic.

• Implement automated tests from manual test cases and business requirements; develop reusable test-step libraries and contribute to cross-application test suites.

• Support organization-wide test automation adoption, reusable testing tools, automated regression testing, and improvements to test coverage and testing windows.

• Prepare and configure testing harnesses, tools, environments, test data sets, and test cases for system, functional, performance, and regression testing.

• Prepare or contribute to testing requirements, test-platform architecture, test plans and strategies, test specifications, and configurations for integration, system, regression, stress, and load testing.

• Analyze business, functional, and technical requirements and translate them into test requirements, test cases, and test scripts.

• Analyze test results, identify defects and anomalies, fine-tune test data and test cases, document findings, and support defect tracking and triage.

• Use defect-tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, HP ALM, or JAMA to document and track defects through resolution.

• Perform SQL-based data manipulation, reporting, and validation; support data quality and test-result validation.

• Participate in requirements elicitation, documenting business use cases, business rules, and functional and nonfunctional requirements.

• Review development schedules, prepare work breakdown structures, coordinate with development and QA teams, support scope verification and change control, and participate in analysis/design meetings.

• Create or contribute to high-level and low-level Application Design Documents and other software design, development, testing, and maintenance artifacts.

• Communicate status, risks, issues, defects, and progress to project leadership and stakeholders; provide weekly status reporting and actual hours for assigned tasks.
