PCU/Tele Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week. Must be willing to work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.

Job Description

The PCU/Tele Registered Nurse (RN) will evaluate assigned patients and plan, implement, and document nursing care. This role includes assisting physicians during examinations and procedures, performing various patient tests, and administering medications in accordance with the scope of practice for registered nurses. The RN will promote patient independence by establishing care goals and educating patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care skills. The position requires the ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals, performing a variety of tasks with a wide degree of creativity expected.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient needs and care plans.
• Implement and document nursing care effectively.
• Assist physicians in medical examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests.
• Teach patients and families self-care skills and health management.
• Float between departments as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Arizona RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• 2+ years of nursing experience in a PCU/Telemetry setting
• Experience with Cerner EMR is required
• Ability to manage cardiac drips and familiarity with TAVRs and Watchman mitral clips
