Description

American Traveler is seeking an ICU RN with cardiac experience and vent management skills for a day shift position requiring a KS or compact RN license.

Details

• Surgical ICU setting with a cardiac patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Must be able to manage two ventilated patients while multitasking multiple drip titrations
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend shifts required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Floating to like units within scope required based on facility needs

Requirements

• Active KS or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required in hand
• CPI and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred, with 1 year of current dedicated ICU experience within the past 2-3 years
• Trauma Level II hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation required
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips required
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and acute/chronic renal failure management required
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias required
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiac ICU patients, including post-cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization care
• Experience with IABP, Impella, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and Swan Ganz monitoring preferred
• Experience with hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun preferred
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travelers will receive a brief orientation when floating to other units
