Senior Paralegal

The Gilchrist Law Firm, P.A. is a law firm supporting legal, administrative, and government-facing matters with a focus on professionalism, compliance, and high-quality client service. We are seeking a qualified Senior Paralegal to support litigation and discovery-related work in a fast-paced federal environment located in Washington, DC. The Senior Paralegal will provide on-site litigation support to multiple case teams, assisting with discovery, evidence tracking, Relativity workspace management, document review, and trial preparation. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high-quality work under pressure. This position supports a federal contract and requires full-time, on-site work at the customer location in Washington, DC. The Senior Paralegal will work under the direction of a Project Manager, Supervisory Paralegal, DOJ administrator, or Project Supervisor. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Key Responsibilities Supporting a fast-moving litigation environment involving multiple cases in discovery. Handling evidence and supporting chain of custody requirements. Supporting pre-indictment activities, including database searches and status reporting to case teams. Managing and organizing data within Relativity workspaces across multiple cases. Collaborating with multiple trial teams and litigation case teams. Coordinating, when needed, with agencies outside of DOJ. Compiling, preparing, and summarizing relevant materials for attorneys in discovery and in preparation of motions, briefs, and other legal documents. Summarizing depositions, transcripts, and other case-related materials. Maintaining case files and tracking document discovery, including documents produced and received. Indexing, tracking, and controlling exhibits and other materials for depositions and trial. Preparing exhibit cross-references. Assisting attorneys in the courtroom. Reviewing documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria. Assisting with document compilations related to FOIA requests, production requests, Congressional inquiries, and other legal or case-related needs. Producing work with minimal direct supervision while following written guidelines and internal review procedures. Traveling as required. Minimum Qualifications Paralegal certificate, Juris Doctor, or current attendance at an ABA-accredited law school with at least one year of completed study; or an equivalent level of legal training, education, or experience. At least two years of litigation paralegal experience or project-related experience connected to the task order. At least one year of experience in automated litigation support. Strong discovery management experience, including Relativity data management, evidence tracking, and discovery status reporting. Working knowledge of the federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Thorough knowledge of legal research tools and legal document preparation. Hands‑on familiarity with computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, document review platforms, file management systems, imaging tools, and related hardware systems. Familiarity with ESI tools, eDiscovery procedures, and eDiscovery resources. Ability to consistently deliver high‑quality work under pressure. Ability to travel as needed. Security Requirement The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization. U.S. Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location. This includes a credit report analysis.
