Sr. Accountant

KBW is partnered with a well-established and growing organization in the greater Portland, ME area is seeking a Sr. Accountant to join its team. This position plays a key role in supporting payroll accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and compliance efforts while partnering closely with key stakeholders across the business. Responsibilities Support the accounting close process through payroll-related journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial analysis Monitor payroll expenses and labor costs, identifying trends and variances against budget and forecast expectations Prepare recurring and ad hoc reporting for leadership, including workforce metrics, labor allocations, and compensation-related analytics Maintain accurate payroll accounting records and ensure data integrity between payroll and financial systems Assist with audits by providing supporting documentation, reconciliations, and payroll-related schedules Help strengthen internal controls, maintain compliance with applicable regulations, and support ongoing process improvements Serve as a resource for payroll-related questions and collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and management teams Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline 3+ years' experience supporting accounting, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret large data sets Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Experience working within payroll and ERP systems preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting
