Job Summary Night (United States of America) / RN - Acute Care - Cardiac Telemetry - Full-Time Night The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high‑quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders and supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is steered by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence‑based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the Wellstar Values. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, it is expected that the individual upholds the voice of the patient, system policies and procedures while supporting service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Exemplary Practice and Outcomes Performs the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation; and evaluation) using evidence‑based practice, analytical and critical thinking, and ensures individualized care; coordinates care through effective partnerships. Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that respects population specific characteristics and adapts delivery to cultural diversity. Partners with patients and significant others using appropriate methods for setting goals (e.g., bedside shift report; interdisciplinary rounds; just‑in‑time and planned teaching), keeping communication focused on the patient’s goals. Practices current clinical standards. Teamwork and Collaboration Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model, including diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods. Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration, practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and supporting recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members. Participates and supports performance improvement activities, including research utilization and shared governance at all levels. Professional Development and Initiative Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education. Serves as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses, staff or students, fostering a qualified workforce and modeling professional practice. Evidence‑Based Practice and Research Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement. Participates in value analysis and data collection for clinical questions. Upholds all health care system policies, procedures, and clinical competencies, including legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements, and supports safety goals such as TJC Patient Safety Goals. Resources and Support Proactively plans patient care across the continuum during direct care. Participates in development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes. Supports efficient use of human and material resources. Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all Wellstar Health System policies and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma (RN) (required) Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred) Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s) RN – Regular Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT (Multi‑state Compact) BLS – Basic Life Support or ARC‑BLS – American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS‑I – Basic Life Support Instructor Additional License(s) and Certification(s) All certifications required upon hire unless otherwise stated. Required Minimum Experience Minimum 5 years RN experience (direct patient care) Preferred direct patient care experience Required Minimum Skills Ability to read, write and speak English; optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and basic computer skills. Strong interpersonal, collaborative and customer service skills. Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies decisively, composed and respectfully.
