A well-established automotive manufacturing company in the Upstate South Carolina market is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead human resources for its manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on plant HR leadership opportunity supporting a fast-paced, quality-driven production environment.
The HR Manager will partner closely with site leadership to support employees, strengthen HR processes, and align people strategy with the operational goals of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day HR operations for a manufacturing facility, serving as a trusted partner to plant leadership and employees
- Oversee employee relations, performance management, investigations, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning, recruiting, retention, onboarding, and organizational development
- Support hourly and salaried employee populations within a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Develop and implement HR initiatives that improve engagement, retention, communication, and overall employee experience
- Partner with managers and supervisors on coaching, performance improvement, attendance, and disciplinary matters
- Support compensation, benefits, leave administration, and other core HR processes
- Analyze HR metrics and workforce trends and provide recommendations to site leadership
- Assist with training and development initiatives, including leadership development and employee training
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure appropriate documentation and confidentiality
- Partner with corporate HR and other functional leaders on broader organizational initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Prior experience supporting Automotive Manufacturing
- Experience with recruiting, retention, performance management, and workforce planning
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively with both front-line employees and senior leadership
- HRIS experience and strong Microsoft Office skills
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus
