What we want The College of Pharmacy is looking for a Research Assistant to serve as a member of the Pharmaceutical Sciences team. What You Need to Know Starting Salary: $45,000.00 Location: Kingsville, Texas Cover Letter & Resume: A cover letter and resume are strongly recommended Responsibilities Research - Intensively participates in data analysis and preliminary data collection through accurately following experimental protocols (e.g., cell culture, PCR, ELISA, Western blot, immunohistochemistry, mice behavioral study). - Compiles data files set from research teams. Collects, interprets, and analyzes data, compiles results, prepares reports, and presents their conclusions. - Maintains mouse colony in the vivarium, performs surgery on the xenograft mice, conducts behavioral test on mice, generates preliminary data for the lung cancer project and Alzheimer’s disease projects. - Participates in poster and podium presentation of the collected results Administrative - Under the supervision of PI, organizes the professional collaboration between the pharmacy/graduate students and the lab team member. - Helps train new lab members or undergraduate students and graduate students on techniques and safety protocols. - Ships laboratory agents for analysis - Works collaboratively with undergraduate students, graduate students, postdocs, and PIs. - Attends and contributes to lab meetings and discussions. - Other essential duties Qualifications Required Education - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment. - Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position. - Attention to detail.
