• Teaching Hospital? No


• Chest Pain Center? Yes


• Stroke Center? Yes


• Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit


• Unit Information:


o Beds: 30


• Average Census: 26


o Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years of ICU exp


o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes


• Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:


o Can see any diagnosis except Cardiac Surgical - Sepsis, ARDS, GI Bleeds, DKA, Cardiac Arrest, Withdrawal, Renal Failure, etc.


• Patient Ratios:


o RN: 1:1-2 (Day & Night)


• Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:


o RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS


• Skills required:


o RN: Critical care gtts experience - insulin, vasopressors, sedation, management of invasive lines (ART/CVP),Cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, ventilator management, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, etc.


• Support within the Department:


o CNA (Ratios - dependent on census/staffing) - patient care (ADLs/Vitals/Nutrition/Blood sugar checks) and mobility


o No Receptionist/HUC


o Charge nurse


o Clinical Supervisor daily to act as Resource for team


o Phlebotomy, 24/7


o IV/VAT Team, 24/7


o Pharmacist dedicated to unit


o Case Manager x 2 per unit


o MedSurg Clinical Nurse Specialist


o RT 24/7 - will perform Nebulizer treatments


o Nurse Educator


o Hospitalist, 24/7


o Intensivist until 12am and then virtual/on call critical care MD


o No remote Tele Monitoring - Unit Clerk, Charge/Clinical Supervisor and Staff are responsible to read and post every shift


• Technology/Equipment:


o EMR: EPIC


o IV Pump: Alaris


o Med dispensing: Omnicell


o Monitors: Phillips


o Rover Communication


o Hoyer lift; Gait Belts; Activity closet for confused patients


• Floating:


o Within region and scope of practice


o Will be required to float per region needs - will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice - DECLINE if not agreeable


• Region 2 - Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, Central Division (CMC Main + CMC Mercy + Levine Children's Hospital)


• If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
