Chaplain (Part-Time) - Tampa, FL | *Bilingual Spanish

Position Summary Chaplains are the frontline staff fulfilling the mission and Christian ministry of MCHAP, by using their gifts and talents to serve company employees and their immediate families. This is a part‑time position located in Tampa, FL. Bilingual Spanish required. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Serves as a messenger and conveyor of faith, mission, and purpose. Interacts with companies, their employees, and the community in a manner that exhibits character through personal and spiritual disciplines. Meets regularly with employees at company worksites (usually weekly) to build relationships of trust and friendship motivated by Christian faith. Visits employees or immediate family members wherever help can be expressed: hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, family residences, or other sites. Provides confidential pastoral discussions for a variety of issues such as family matters, divorce, serious illness, care of aging parents, grief, parenting, financial situations, and other personal matters. Coordinates referrals to specialized assistance for employees and family members with specific needs. Assists with planning or attending funerals for employees or family members, including follow‑up support during the grief period. Makes jail visits for employees and families when requested. Supports companies in notifying families and employees of death or serious injuries and encourages affected individuals. Provides post‑termination care for laid‑off or terminated employees to aid in transition to new employment. Facilitates spiritual enrichment activities when appropriate; prefers employee‑led events over chaplain‑led ones. Offers literature and resources to assist employees with life issues. Represents companies to clients/customers in ministry‑related scenarios such as serious illness, accidents, traumatic events, and funerals. Participates in new employee orientation to explain the Employee Care Service and the chaplain team’s role. With permission from the Executive Director of Operations, responds positively and assertively to additional duties requested by executive leadership, within the scope of the Letter of Agreement between MCHAP chaplains and the company. Requirements Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary group and in an interfaith setting, accepting different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values. Strong listening and interaction skills with clients, employees, and families; ability to deliver community presentations and manage stressful situations with compassion. Spiritual maturity and commitment to a Christian lifestyle, the core values of MCHAP, and a firm understanding of the Holy Bible and its application. Demonstrated professional diplomacy, patience, courtesy, and the capacity to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse groups. Excellent oral and written communication skills; emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses. Analytical ability to define problems, develop solutions, interpret policies, and keep stakeholders informed. Proficiency with Google Suites, Microsoft Office, or equivalent software; ability to learn new technology programs. Active state driver’s license and minimum auto insurance required for the states where the chaplain will be servicing clients. Conditions of Employment Must pass a pre‑employment background check. Work Environment This is a remote position conducted in the field, with work environments varying by client — including manufacturing plants, hospitals, office buildings, and funeral homes, each with differing levels of temperature, noise, and light exposure. #J-18808-Ljbffr
