Financial Analyst

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Finance & Accounting Analyst for the California Nurses Association/National Nurses United (CNA/NNU). This is a temporary, onsite position based in Oakland, CA. POSITION OVERVIEW The Finance & Accounting Analyst plays a key role in supporting financial operations, reporting, and compliance across CNA/NNU and its affiliated entities. This position partners closely with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver accurate financial insights, support audits, and contribute to organizational decision-making. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment. PERKS Competitive hourly pay rate of $60-70/hour (DOE) Opportunity to work with one of the nation’s largest and most influential labor organizations Collaborative, mission-driven team environment focused on social justice and healthcare advocacy RESPONSIBILITIES Analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements and prepare detailed reports Conduct financial research and trend analysis to support budgeting and forecasting Prepare and post journal entries and support month-end close processes Lead and contribute to ad hoc financial analysis projects Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate financial reporting Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, processes, and reporting workflows QUALIFICATIONS Strong experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related field Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling Working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Experience with fund accounting or multi-entity environments preferred Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $60-70/hour, depending on experience.
