Doctor of Medicine | Neonatal Location: Lansing, MI Employer: VieMed Healthcare Staffing Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Locum - Physician - Neonatology Lansing, MI Start Date: 07/01/2026 Hourly Pay Rate: $312.00 Job Description: UMH Sparrow Lansing Main Hospital is seeking a Board Certified Neonatologist to provide coverage in a Level III NICU and Special Care Nursery. The provider will be responsible for day shifts and night/weekend call coverage, arriving at the hospital within 30 minutes when called in. The assignment is from July 1, 2026, to July 1, 2027, due to short staffing. Key Responsibilities: Attend high-risk deliveries and C-sections Provide ventilation management, including BiPAP/CPAP, Oscillator ventilator support, and nitric oxide (iNO) therapy Perform neonatal procedures such as chest tube insertion, central line insertion, arterial line insertion, PA catheter placement, umbilical venous and artery catheterizations (UVC, UAC), and PICC placement Manage emergency situations and neonatal resuscitation Potentially supervise Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs) Document patient care using EPIC EMR Patient and Facility Details: Neonatal and NICU newborn patient population Trauma designation: Level I Trauma Center Average daily census of 31 patients with approximately 3 admissions per day Total beds: 47 (33 licensed NICU beds, 12 Special Care Nursery beds, 2 bassinets) Support staff includes NICU Nurse Manager, Operations Manager, PT, OT, Dieticians, Nursing staff, Child Life Specialists, and NNPs Shift Schedule: Day Shift: 10 hours Night Shift: 14-hour home call (must arrive within 30 minutes) Call ratio: 1:4 with variable scheduling due to staffing needs EMR System: EPIC Facility Reimbursements: Hotel accommodations Mileage at IRS standard rate Flights Rates to Submit: Hourly rate: $312.00/hr Orientation: 1/2 of hourly rate ($156.00) Holiday hourly: 1.5X standard rate Night and weekend call pay to be included in rates and reimbursements Benefits: Competitive pay packages Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program 24/7 dedicated team committed to support throughout your engagement with VHS Paid sick leave in accordance with all applicable laws Reimbursements for licensure, certification, travel, and other applicable expenses VHS is an Equal Opportunity Employer (“EEO”)/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities/E-Verify Employer and welcomes all to apply #LiveYourLife #VHSCC Benefits Licensure -Certification - Travel and other reimbursements when applicable
