API Manufacturing Chemist - Nights

Location: Germantown, Wisconsin, US Department: Manufacturing Reference: VN1212 Compensation & Schedule Sign‑on bonus: $2000 Shift premium: $6 per hour Schedule: 2‑2‑3 (12‑hour night shifts, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM). Work only 14 days each month with every other weekend off. Job Summary Role: API Manufacturing Chemist. Drive results by safely and accurately operating process equipment and utilities. Use Allen‑Bradley Control System and manage reactor systems across various production units, including storage tanks, waste tanks, vacuum units, and scrubber systems. Perform routine analytical procedures (TLC, GC, NMR, HPLC, KF) to monitor reaction progress and isolate/purify products. Document work using GMP Good Documentation Practices and prepare final reports. Your Responsibilities Operate process equipment and utilities. Use the Allen‑Bradley Control System to control process operations. Perform chemical reactions on a gram to multi‑kilogram scale. Solve common synthetic problems. Understand and interpret analytical data. Manage and track project progress, including monitoring timelines, raw materials, equipment availability, and yields to ensure project success. Prepare production areas for cGMP project initiation or changeover. Produce clear documentation of all results and procedures. Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems. Use the work order system to request maintenance and/or improvement work. Operate reactor systems within various production units, including knowledge of all ancillary equipment such as storage tanks, waste tanks, heating/cooling units, vacuum units, and scrubber systems. Use the PLC Control System for operation of the unit, recognize and respond to alarms or emergency situations. Utilize the inventory system to properly document inventory transfers and usages. Requirements Possess a bachelor’s degree in a chemistry‑related field or a high school diploma with at least 3 years of equivalent experience in a related field. Candidates with more extensive experience may be considered for a more senior‑level role, depending on qualifications.
