Our client is a growing boutique marketing agency in Washington, DC, that works as an extension of our clients' teams across social media strategy, content production, paid media, branding, and digital marketing. Our clients span a wide range of service-based industries, and our goal is to bring LA- and New York-caliber content production to DC.

Our founder is a DC native with deep local roots and a talent for bringing in clients, which means the work is already here: a steady roster of established brands across a wide range of industries, and a strong business foundation behind it. What we need now is a talented shooter and editor to own production, so we can keep growing. You'll have real autonomy over how content gets made, a creative partner who values collaboration and big ideas, and the variety of shooting for 8 to 12 different clients instead of one brand. There's also a clear path to take on more responsibility and leadership as the agency grows. We're hiring our first full-time Photographer / Videographer to own content production for the agency. You'll lead client shoots from planning through final delivery, capturing professional photo and video on mirrorless/DSLR systems as well as social-first iPhone content. Then you'll edit it into finished assets.

You'll work directly with our founder, who sets creative direction. You'll own the execution: the camera, the lighting, the audio, the talent on set, and the edit. This role is for a technically strong, reliable shooter and editor who wants real ownership and room to grow as the agency grows.

What You'll Do

On set

• Lead roughly 2–3 client content shoots per week across the DMV, many of them full production days.
• Handle pre-production: shot lists, gear prep, lighting and audio planning.
• Shoot professional photo and video across varied locations, lighting conditions, and industries, from polished campaign work to fast, social-forward content.
• Capture high-quality mirrorless/DSLR video alongside social-first iPhone content.
• Direct and put at ease clients, employees, and on-camera talent, many of whom aren't used to being filmed.
• Set up and run professional lighting and audio equipment.

In post

• Edit short-form video (Reels, TikToks, ads) in Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar.
• Edit and color-correct photography in Lightroom and Photoshop.
• Deliver finished assets on deadline across 8–12 active client accounts.
• Organize and archive RAW footage, project files, and final assets.

Production ownership

• Maintain the agency's production equipment and recommend future gear needs.
• Coordinate additional shooters or resources when a project needs them.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional photography and videography experience, with work you shot and edited yourself.
• Strong command of manual camera settings, exposure, composition, lighting, and audio. You can explain why you made the choices you made.
• Proven experience running shoots independently from start to finish.
• Strong editing and post-production skills for both photo and short-form video.
• Fluency in social-first formats: vertical video, current trends, platform best practices.
• Comfort directing people on camera and working directly with clients.
• Reliability. You show up prepared and on time, every time.
• You take feedback well and enjoy revising work until it's right for the client.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to get to shoots throughout DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia with gear. You should be within roughly 30 minutes of DC / Georgetown.
• Availability for occasional early-morning, evening, or weekend shoots.

Bonus Points

This is a small, growing agency, so there's plenty of room to contribute beyond production if that interests you. Experience in any of these is a plus but not required:

• Agency experience juggling multiple clients and industries.
• E-commerce, retail or brand in-house content experience.
• Social media account support: content calendars, captions and copy, scheduling in Meta Business Suite, performance reporting.
• Paid social: developing ad creative, Meta Ads Manager, campaign setup and testing.
• Light graphic design in Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Client onboarding, project management, pitch and proposal support, or influencer programs.
• Art school, film school, or other critique-based creative training.

Schedule and Flexibility

This is a full-time, flexible hybrid role. You'll be in person for client shoots and 1-2 in-person collaborative days a week with the founder. The rest of your time is remote. Shoot schedules shift week to week around client needs. We care about communication, quality, and deadlines, not a traditional 9-to-5.
