Dental Assistant - Advanced

Position Summary The Dental Assistant Supervisor oversees daily dental assisting operations within the Department of Restorative Sciences, supporting the Graduate Operative Dentistry and Graduate Prosthodontics clinics. Responsibilities include direct supervision, scheduling coordination, training, clinic operations, chairside assistance, and inventory management. Responsibilities Provide chairside dental assisting support and clinical coverage. Coordinate staffing assignments and monitor workflow efficiency. Maintain inventory, order clinical supplies, and ensure operatory readiness. Support faculty, students, residents, and staff in patient care and educational activities. Implement and enforce clinic policies, infection control standards, restorative and prosthodontic tray preparation, sterilization procedures, and digital dentistry workflows. Collaborate with faculty, administration, and clinical teams to support patient care, educational activities, and operational needs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency and completion of an accredited dental assisting program, or equivalent training and experience. Experience supervising or coordinating dental assistant operations in a clinical environment. Experience supporting restorative or prosthodontic dental procedures preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and inventory management skills. Experience in an academic dental setting and familiarity with digital dentistry workflows preferred. Completion of an accredited dental assisting program and Dental Assistant II certification preferred; CPR/BLS certification preferred or required upon hire. Physical Requirements Must be able to move up to 30 lbs. and stand or sit for long periods of time.
