Summary:

This role supports the educational growth and professional development of nursing staff within a cardiac progressive care unit. The educator designs and delivers orientation, in-service training, and continuing education tailored to the unique needs of the patient population, emphasizing age, psychosocial, and physical considerations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide classroom and hands-on clinical instruction for new hires, nurse residencies, and agency personnel.
• Plan and coordinate formal and informal educational sessions for all unit nursing staff.
• Organize skills fairs and simulation exercises to maintain and enhance nursing competencies.
• Maintain accurate records of staff education and competency assessments.
• Identify opportunities for quality improvement through audits and direct observation.
• Assess educational needs and implement remediation plans as necessary.
• Contribute to the development and evaluation of unit goals.
• Deliver in-services on evidence-based nursing practices, new techniques, and equipment usage.
• Provide input for staff performance evaluations related to clinical competence.
• Serve as a professional role model and consultant within the nursing unit.

Education:

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the United States.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a bachelor's degree in a health-related field required.
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or master's degree in a related health field preferred.
• Nursing certification is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of specialty-specific nursing experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Effective organizational, teaching, and leadership capabilities.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to communicate effectively using speech and auditory skills.
• Visual acuity necessary for patient observation.
• Capability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials.
