Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join Unity Care Counseling, LLC on a full-time basis, providing crucial mental health services in a remote outpatient setting. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health assessments to gauge the needs and challenges faced by children and adolescents, utilizing standardized tools and clinical interviews. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that align with developmental stages, family dynamics, and individual needs, ensuring a tailored approach for each patient. Administer evidence-based therapeutic interventions, employing techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, and family therapy to address various mental health conditions. Facilitate family therapy sessions to engage parents and caregivers, aiding them in fostering supportive environments for their children. Collaborate with child psychiatrists and interdisciplinary teams, contributing insights to case discussions and ensuring a holistic approach to patient care. Provide crisis intervention and management, effectively responding to mental health emergencies and developing safety plans for at-risk youth. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources to enhance understanding and promote proactive management. Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation, adhering to legal and ethical standards of practice while participating in ongoing training sessions to stay compliant with regulations. Engage regularly in professional development and peer consultations, staying updated on new research and methodologies within child and adolescent mental health. Patient Population / Client Focus In this role, you will specifically focus on addressing the mental health needs of children and adolescents dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and various behavioral disorders. Your work will directly contribute to improving their emotional well-being and overall quality of life, with the goal of empowering young individuals and their families to thrive. Qualifications A valid LMHC license to practice in New York State. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related disciplines is preferred. A minimum of three years of post-licensure clinical experience, demonstrating competency in individual and family therapy. Strong foundational knowledge of child and adolescent mental health, including diagnostic criteria and treatment options. Proficient in various therapeutic modalities and the ability to adapt approaches to meet individual patient needs. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on a child-centered approach. A proven track record in building rapport and establishing trust with children, adolescents, and their families. Preferred Experience Experience working directly with diverse populations, including those from various cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Familiarity with remote therapy tools and virtual communication platforms, enhancing the delivery of services in a telehealth environment. Participatory involvement in community outreach programs and initiatives related to mental health awareness and education. Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
