Part-Time Production Baker

Based in DC's Georgetown neighborhood, Dog Tag Bakery provides an innovative, hands-on educational program for veterans, military spouses, and caregivers, equipping them with the skills to launch their own businesses or transition to meaningful careers in the civilian workforce.
Our bakery is a place where delicious treats and meaningful service meet. Every item we create reflects our dedication to supporting those who have served our country. With every loaf, cookie, and pastry, we honor the veterans, military families, and caregivers who walk through our doors, offering them a path to success through learning, community, and empowerment.
We are looking for a talented and passionate part-time production baker who loves to bake with purpose and enjoys working in a dynamic environment. Being a baker at Dog Tag is an empowering experience an opportunity to grow in your career.
Baker Responsibilities & Duties
- Keep pars/inventory up to date with product they are responsible for.
- Measure ingredients and prepare batters and doughs.
- Help with the preparation of catering and event menus.
- Operate machinery, which includes a sheeter for our logo cookies.
- Bake cookies and macaroons in large quantities.
- Follow directions and recipes correctly.
- Ensure all product is kept to Dog Tag Bakery standards, checking for consistent appearance and quality.
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and clean work environment.
- Abide by all Health and Safety standards.
- Highly responsible, punctual, and reliable.
- Have access to reliable transportation.
- Take initiative and work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail.
- Work well under pressure.
- Quickly recognize and resolve problems.
- Must be able to multitask effectively.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Work Hours, Compensation & Benefits
- Part-time work schedule of 20 to 30 hours per week.
- Open availability for shifts - dependent on orders.
- Starting wage: $18 per hour plus tips.

Education and Experience
- 1+ years of industry baking experience or culinary school equivalent required.
- Experience with from-scratch baking preferred.
