Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into an impactful role supporting students as an itinerant Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic educational environment near Sun Valley, NV. This full-time contract opportunity covers mostly elementary school students, with occasional assignments in middle and high school settings. The successful candidate will provide direct interpreting services to one or two students, ensuring equitable access to instruction and school activities.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold national certification for interpreting
• EIP score of 3.5 or higher required
• Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, especially in school-based settings
• Comfortable working across elementary, and occasionally middle and high schools
• Able to provide documentation for fingerprints and drug screening as part of onboarding
• Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and student-centered support
• Collaborative spirit and adaptability within diverse educational teams
• Willing to attend a prescreen interview (flexible weekday times available between 9-11 AM and 2-3 PM EST)

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality interpreting services in classroom and school activities
• Follow IEPs and collaborate with educational staff to support student goals
• Travel as needed between schools (minimal itinerant scheduling)
• Maintain accurate records and uphold best practices in confidentiality
• Adapt communication styles to meet needs of students at various grade levels
• Serve as a liaison between staff, students, and families as appropriate

This contract runs from August 10, 2026, to June 3, 2027, offering 32 hours per week during the school year. You’ll join a supportive, student-focused team dedicated to bridging communication and empowering students.
