The general cardiology practice encompasses echocardiography, stress testing, and outpatient cardiac arrhythmia monitoring. A Level 2 training in echocardiography is required, and a special interest in Heart Failure and/or Cardiac MRI is preferred but not mandatory. Responsibilities include:

• Providing inpatient and outpatient general cardiology care and consultations, with a focus on heart failure.
• Developing and eventually leading a community hospital heart failure program, including a CHF clinic with outpatient heart failure monitoring systems (e.g., Cardiomems, Zoll, and device-related heart failure alert systems).
• Acting as a liaison and co-managing care between the community hospital and advanced heart failure centers for potential LVAD and cardiac transplant patients.
• Participating in pharmacological and device-related industry-supported heart failure research.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible Cardiologist
• Active Michigan medical license (or the ability to obtain one)
• DEA license
• BLS certification (must be maintained) / ACLS certification (must be maintained)
