Requirements:

• CA State License
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in maternal/newborn care, including postpartum, newborn assessments, labor/delivery procedures, and C-section/postpartum care.
• Key clinical skills:
• Postpartum care and education
• Newborn assessment, thermoregulation, hypoglycemia management, phototherapy
• Infant identification and discharge teaching
• Vaginal delivery and cesarean/postpartum hemorrhage management
• Post-epidural care, pain assessment/management, PCA use
• Foley insertion/bladder assessment, episiotomy/incision care, fundus/lochia/perineum care
• Breastfeeding support and pump use

Compliance / Notes:

• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
• The candidate must disclose any license/background hits at time of submission; no open license hits approved.
• LA Fire Card required within last 30 days (candidate expense; facility/agency will not reimburse).
• Documentation required for submission: SSN and DOB.
• Two references covering one year within the last three years required (can include Charge RN/Lead).
• Parking: Hang-tag $10; Key-card $35; payroll deduction options available.
• Must disclose if the candidate has worked at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, registry/per-diem) with location and dates.
• Orientation modules required pre-start and annually (average 16 hours; over 20 hours requires PM approval).
