Independent Sales Representative

Compensation: 100% commission plus bonus incentives | 1099 independent contractor

Location: Pacific Northwest, Northern California, Hawaii, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky (you must live in the territory you cover)

Travel: Regular travel to accounts throughout your territory

Every company retreat, client gift box, golf outing, and team event starts with someone deciding what to put a logo on. When that answer is a hat people actually want to wear, the brand gets seen for years instead of being left in a drawer. You’ll help make that happen. As an Imperial rep, you’ll give the promotional products distributors in your territory a premium headwear and apparel line they’re proud to show their clients, then help them win and grow those programs.

Imperial has made headwear since 1916, and we’re the #1 headwear brand in golf. Now we’re bringing that craftsmanship into the promotional products channel, building on a long history to create something new. We need independent reps who know the promo world, already have relationships in it, and want to help shape what Imperial becomes there.

What your days look like

• Growing your territory. You’ll spend much of your time opening new accounts and deepening the ones you already have. You decide where to focus and how to build your pipeline.
• Being the go-to person for your accounts. Your accounts will count on you for samples, new styles, order updates, decoration options, and ideas that help them sell Imperial to their own clients.
• Telling the Imperial story. You’ll run account meetings, work regional shows and events, and walk buyers through our best-selling styles and custom capabilities.
• Using the numbers. Sales reports and account feedback will show you what’s working, which accounts have room to grow, and where to spend your time next.
• Running your own business. You’ll manage your own schedule, planning, and communication, and you’ll check in regularly with our Promotional Channel leadership to align on goals and new product pushes.

What you need to bring

• At least 3 years of experience as an independent sales rep in the promotional products channel
• A track record of building a promo territory and growing revenue in it
• The discipline to run your own pipeline and schedule without someone managing your day
• Confidence presenting to distributors, buyers, and decision-makers, and the follow-through to close
• Steadiness when a deal stalls or a buyer pushes back
• Solid organization, because custom logo programs depend on getting the details right

What would give you a head start

• Existing distributor relationships in your territory
• Experience selling decorated headwear or premium apparel
• Familiarity with order entry, CRM, and artwork approval systems (we’ll train you on ours)
