Job Details Job Location: Adult Crisis Residence (OMH) - Arverne, NY 11692 Education Level: High School Salary Range: $19.46 per hour Position Summary Provide all aspects of care to people served to enable them to become independent and productive. This position may have supervised or unsupervised contact and/or conversational interaction with people served while working in the residences. Essential Responsibilities Assist in planning, developing, and implementing goals and training to further develop skills of people served, including: budgeting grooming nutritional planning use of public transportation use of community resources shopping housekeeping physical health adaptive behavior/independent living nutrition vocational development social development Monitor progress of people served, including seeing, hearing, observing, performing manual tasks, documenting, lifting, and operating transportation vehicles. Coordinate evacuation and ensure resident safety during emergencies, including stair and fire escape operations. Supervise and monitor medication self‑administration. Monitor and record case notes, collateral notes, progress notes, and house logs. Participate in crisis intervention and incident reporting procedures. Meet routinely with persons served and management to review goal progress. Assist in planning and escorting residents to evening and weekend recreational activities and moderate physical activities. Attend all staff meetings, mandatory training sessions, quarterly and annual meetings within the residence and external entities. Complete required training courses: Medication Supervision Training, CPR, First Aid, Cultural Competency, Mandated Reporting, Corporate Compliance. Communicate relevant information to staff and supervisors through logs and reports. Act as a role model for persons served. Maintain records and confidentiality. Assist/supervise lunch preparation, clean‑up, and family‑style dining. Assist individuals in clothing care (laundry, ironing). Participate actively as a member of the interdisciplinary program planning team. Read and write typed/written correspondence, clinical notes, and other documentation. Lift and carry packages and boxes of supplies. Follow‑up on after‑care recommendations and escort individuals to appointments. Assist individuals in researching and obtaining community resources. Maintain confidentiality at all times. Adapt work schedules and locations as needed. Job Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent.
