Full-Time Salary: $ 165,841.36 + DOE + Full 1199 SEIU Union Benefits

For an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, this is an opportunity to do more than manage medications. You will evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with a range of psychiatric and co-occurring conditions while working alongside a multidisciplinary behavioral health team.

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our Behavioral Health Center of Excellence and provide comprehensive psychiatric care to our diverse Queens community.

What You'll Do

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
Diagnose psychiatric conditions and develop individualized treatment plans
Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications
Monitor treatment response and provide ongoing clinical follow-up
Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses and other members of the care team
Coordinate care for patients with behavioral health and co-occurring conditions
Provide patient and family education and support
Contribute to quality and patient-care initiatives within Behavioral Health

Requirements

What You'll Need Master's or Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited program Current New York State RN license and Nurse Practitioner certification in Psychiatry Appropriate prescribing credentials, including DEA registration when prescribing controlled substances 1+ years of psychiatric or behavioral health experience preferred Strong psychiatric assessment, clinical judgment and medication-management skills Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
