General Manager

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee all aspects of our welding supply and industrial gas operations. This leadership role is responsible for driving sales growth, managing store performance, developing employees, maintaining inventory and safety compliance, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the welding supply and industrial gas industry, strong business acumen, and a proven track record of leading successful teams. As the General Manager, you will have full responsibility for the store's profitability, operational excellence, and long-term growth. Responsibilities Direct and oversee all daily operations of the welding supply and industrial gas business Lead, coach, and develop store managers, sales personnel, drivers, and warehouse staff Establish sales goals and implement strategies to drive revenue growth and profitability Manage key customer relationships and support business development efforts Ensure exceptional customer service before, during, and after the sale Oversee inventory management, purchasing, and stock control to maintain optimal inventory levels Manage industrial gas cylinder inventory, distribution, and regulatory compliance Monitor financial performance, including sales, margins, expenses, and operating budgets Review and analyze reports to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvements Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, compressed gas safety standards, and company policies Coordinate delivery operations and logistics to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction Resolve escalated customer concerns and operational issues professionally and effectively Work closely with vendors and manufacturers to maintain strong business partnerships Lead hiring, performance management, employee development, and succession planning initiatives Requirements Minimum 5 years of management experience in the welding supply, industrial gas, or industrial distribution industry Proven experience leading teams and managing multiple areas of business operations Strong knowledge of welding equipment, welding consumables, industrial gases, and safety products Experience with inventory management, purchasing, and operational planning Strong financial and business management skills, including budgeting and P&L responsibility Excellent leadership, communication, and customer relationship skills Ability to make sound business decisions in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with computer systems, inventory software, and business reporting tools Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when needed Preferred Qualifications Experience managing a welding supply distributor or industrial gas operation Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and compressed gas regulations Experience in outside sales, business development, or territory management Competitive salary with performance-based bonus opportunities Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match If you are a results-driven leader with welding supply and industrial gas experience, we invite you to join our team and help drive the next phase of growth and success. #J-18808-Ljbffr Hofmann's Supply
