Business Development Representative - Industrial Sales

Job Description:

Grignard Company is seeking a motivated and dynamic Business Development Representative to join our Industrial team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cold calling, prospecting, building relationships with new and existing customers, and contributing to the overall growth of the company.

This position focuses on industrial chemical manufacturing and industrial applications within Water & Wastewater, Wire Rope & Lubrication, Mining & Mineral Processing, Food & Beverage Manufacturing, Offshore & Marine, Oil & Gas, and Industrial Processing & Manufacturing.

Primary Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business through outbound prospecting — cold calling, email, LinkedIn, networking, trade shows, and referrals.
• Research target accounts and identify key decision-makers (engineers, plant and maintenance managers, procurement, municipal utilities, contractors, OEMs, and distributors).
• Qualify inbound and outbound leads on strategic fit, project potential, and customer need, and maintain a consistent outreach cadence to grow pipeline.
• Travel to customer sites, trade shows, and industry events to schedule and conduct introductory meetings for sales managers and technical sales reps, and coordinate presentations, lunch-and-learns, and follow-ups.
• Promote company products and capabilities, and support strategic account penetration and specification development.
• Partner with Industrial Solutions Representatives and Sales Managers to hand off qualified opportunities into active pipeline.
• Assist with proposal development, quotation follow-up, and customer communication.
• Manage all prospecting activity in the CRM daily — leads, opportunities, interactions, and account data — and generate activity and pipeline reports for management.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in business development, inside sales, B2B sales, lead generation, or customer development.
• 5+ years’ experience within industrial, manufacturing, chemical, infrastructure, or technical industries preferred.
• Strong prospecting and cold-calling abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Experience using CRM software. Zoho CRM preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel periodically for customer visits, trade shows, and meetings.
