Sorter/Donation ProcessorThe Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church and the ultimate goal of all programs is a spiritual regeneration of all people.The Purpose of the Sorter/Donation Processor is to prepare donations for retail sale or salvage according to Salvation Army policy and production procedures.Essential duties and responsibilities include:Following procedure as it pertains to sorting, cleaning, preparing, shipping and receiving donated items for saleKeeping donation area clean and without debrisSorting donations of clothing, furniture, electrical and miscellaneous household itemsLoading donations for truck deliveryAdhering to all safety policies as it pertains to loading and unloading of trucksFollowing all accident and injury reporting proceduresMaintaining a clean and organized receiving and processing areaDetermining which items are saleable, repairable or salvageableOther duties as assignedAdhering to proper dress code, with uniform as designated by direct SupervisorEducational requirements include:High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) or one or two months of related job experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experienceMust complete and follow all safety training requirements provided by immediate SupervisorPhysical requirements include:The incumbent must be able to perform the essential duties with or without accommodationWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, bend and stoopFrequently the employee must walk, climb and/or balanceThe employee must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 75 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include distance peripheral, vision and depth perceptionQualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
