While experience with cyber class actions is preferred, it is not required; strong class action litigation experience is essential.Key Responsibilities:Defense of privacy lawsuits and data breach class actions filed in state and federal courts nationwide (including MDL proceedings)Drafting and arguing dispositive motions, including motions to dismiss, motions to strike, opposing class certification, motions for summary judgmentManaging strategy and timelines for multiple class action cases and coordinating removal, consolidation, and case organization effortsPreparing and responding to written discovery, taking and defending depositions, and working with expert witnessesParticipating in mediations for class action settlements, and drafting settlement papers for court approvalQualifications8+ years of complex litigation experience in state and federal courtsJD from an accredited law school is requiredClass action litigation experience is requiredCybersecurity and data privacy background is preferred but not essential Excellent research and writing skills, including drafting briefs and dispositive motionsExcellent oral communication skillsExperience defending in data breach and other privacy class actions (including BIPA, CIPA, VPPA, etc.) is a plusWorking knowledge of state and federal rules of civil procedureHighly organized and able to meet deadlines in multiple casesTeam playerWilson Elser offers a competitive salary and benefits package designed to support our attorneys both professionally and personally.A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.
