Patient Access Representative Regular Full-Time Job ID: 2026-1812 | Category: Rural Health Center Apply Now Nature and Scope RHC Patient Access Representative provides customer-service coverage in the front office of Plumas Rural Health Centers and the offices of Greenville and assumes the responsibility for successful financial outcomes of all patient services. Under the general supervision of the Patient Access Supervisor, this position performs imperative duties, including but not limited to registration, insurance verification, telephone coverage, data entry, documentation, and point-of-service collections, while maintaining patient relations, customer satisfaction and Plumas District Hospital’s financial solvency. Location We are located 1065 Bucks Lake Rd Quincy, CA 95971 Compensation Compensation Philosophy: We have 6 pay increments on our clinical pay scales to compensate the successful candidate for 6 years of relevant experience. Compensation Range: $19.83 - $25.31 / hour Job Status/Shift Information Full-time, benefited Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Qualifications Preferred Experience: Two (2) years experience in a health care environment. At least one (1) to three (3) years of customer service. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Data entry and the ability to type a minimum of 25 words per minute using Microsoft Excel/Word and good mathematical, reading, and writing skills. Superb customer service, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Efficient time management skills and ability to multi-task. Strong understanding and comfort level with computer systems. Responsibilities Promptly field and/or direct incoming calls, respond to patient and/or staff inquiries, and initiate patient triage when necessary. Completely and accurately document all patient interactions (phone calls, etc.) in the patient’s electronic medical record, including caller’s name, patient’s name if different from caller, call back phone number, and a brief message explaining the reason for the call. Ensure all registration and admission forms are ready for patients to complete upon arrival for service. Practice proficient customer‑service skills by greeting and treating all patients and staff with respect and discretion. Gather and verify all appropriate, confidential health and financial information from patients while using various computer software tools, to assure payment for all authorized services.
