Corporate Vendor Management (CVM) at Charles Schwab & Co. is responsible for implementing a firm-wide, end-to-end vendor relationship management process to maximize vendor performance and value. CVM provides strategic sourcing support; identifies, mitigates, monitors, and manages vendor risk and assists Schwab in meeting regulatory and compliance requirements. The CVM organization is currently seeking to expand category management expertise and strategic sourcing capabilities in the Enterprise Services space, specifically for the Human Resources category. What You’ll Do The Vendor Sourcing Manager, Human Resources plays an essential role within CVM by providing business partners with strategic sourcing support, contract negotiation and risk mitigation. In this role, you will also support the broader Sourcing team to manage routing contracts for signature and various other reporting and administrative requirements. This position will be responsible for establishing strong relationships with Schwab business partners across the firm to develop, maintain and execute vendor contracts for Human Resources, in areas such as talent acquisition, employee benefits, and learning and organizational development. This role will manage all aspects of the strategic sourcing lifecycle, lead negotiations, as well as collaborate with risk groups and legal, as required on vendor engagements. This position will partner with the broader Sourcing team to develop sourcing strategies and ensure that industry-leading procurement services tools are utilized to support growth relationships for our suppliers and business partners. The position will not manage people; it is an individual contributor role. Please note: This position is Monday-Friday during standard business hours with a hybrid work model (4 days in office, 1 day working from home). It is only available in the locations listed. Candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate on their own to one of the listed locations. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in Human Resources category vendor management and strategic sourcing Practice leading Request for Proposals (RFPs), including developing market intelligence reports, conducting financial analysis and thorough supplier evaluations Strong negotiation skills, with ability to effectively explore alternatives to reach mutually beneficial outcomes Proficiency leading contract negotiations, including coordination with multiple risk review teams and Legal, in a regulated environment The ability to partner with and project manage cross-functional teams to drive contract and price negotiations that maximize value and mitigate risks while ensuring internal stakeholders’ requirements are met Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Ariba Cloud Strong oral and written communication skills with a proven track record of building effective working relationships with senior level business partners Preferred Qualifications Experience with Zip, PeopleSoft and/or Access is a plus You Demonstrate These Behaviors Positivity: brings energy and optimism to our dynamic workplace; is open to both large/complex sourcing projects as well as more administrative deals and tasks Strong Communication (written/verbal/interpersonal): can easily communicate up, down and across the organization with a proven capability to make contributions to teams and initiatives Analytical Thinking: ability to analyze data, and apply it to develop and implement sourcing strategies and contract negotiations Self-starter: able to manage multiple projects and succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal direction; self-motivated to learn and take on new responsibilities and proactively seek out answers to solve problems Adaptable: comfort and ability to quickly take on new, challenging projects and also perform administrative support to the Enterprise Services Sourcing team as needed What’s in it for you At Schwab, you’re empowered to shape your future.
