Family Practice/Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

Arc Health is urgently seeking a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide exceptional, high-quality outpatient care at a Great Plains Area Indian Health Service (IHS) hospital in southern South Dakota. About The Facility & Community This Great Plains IHS hospital is a 35-bed comprehensive medical/surgical facility located in Rosebud, South Dakota, and serves as the primary healthcare provider for members of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe (Sicangu Oyate) and surrounding communities. The hospital's mission is to raise the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level. South Dakota offers abundant outdoor recreation including hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, boating, birdwatching, and snowshoeing, along with access to beautiful parks and natural landscapes. Schedule Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM Primary Responsibilities Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan within a medically underserved population. Collaborate closely with other healthcare providers and manage care Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, including infectious diseases, in accordance with established clinical practice guidelines. Conduct thorough clinical assessments, evaluate risks and benefits, and engage patients through education and shared decision-making. Provide preventive care services, including screenings, immunizations, and chronic disease management. Assist with specimen collection, laboratory procedures, discharge planning, and follow-up care. Ensure adherence to hospital policies, NCQA standards, and quality care protocols. Required Qualifications Board-certified Nurse Practitioner (Family Nurse Practitioner) Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Primary Care NP Extensive experience working as a solo provider, including prior work in Indian Health Service (IHS) facilities and rural communities Active, unrestricted state license and DEA registration (any U.S. state) Current life support certifications (BLS/ACLS required) Strong commitment to rural and underserved healthcare Compassionate, mission-driven, and patient-centered care approach Demonstrated sensitivity to cross-cultural and language differences Interest in joining a dynamic, socially impactful healthcare organization Preferred Skills & Experience Extensive experience in primary care, family medicine, or acute care Proficiency in suturing, IV insertion, venipuncture, specimen collection, and patient monitoring Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation best practices Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance standards Experience in hospital outpatient settings Understanding of pain management, discharge planning, and chronic disease protocols Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams Compensation & Benefits $90 per hour Malpractice coverage, including tail insurance Local housing and travel (including car rental) fully covered Competitive compensation with flexible career options, including opportunities for domestic and international rotations Supportive and engaged community of social medicine practitioners Why Join Arc Health?
