Washington Certified Medical Coder

To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time salaried Washington Certified Medical Coder will review medical records to extract data and apply appropriate diagnoses and procedure codes for billing and compliance, working remotely with occasional onsite onboarding. Key responsibilities Extract and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, Modifiers, and HCPCS codes per coding guidelines Perform coding and abstracting of records, ensuring compliance with documentation and payer regulations Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve coding issues and provide feedback to providers as necessary Required qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred Certification such as RHIT, CCS, RHIA, CPC, CPC-H, CPC-A, or CCA Minimum of 1 year of coding experience Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding, medical terminology, and insurance billing Experience with EPIC EHR is desired
