NYC DOE is seeking paraprofessionals to support students and school communities in primary and secondary education settings. This opportunity is centered on helping create structured, supportive classrooms where students can engage in learning and receive the day-to-day support they need to succeed.
In this role, you will contribute to a student-focused environment by working closely with teachers and school staff to reinforce learning, support student development, and help maintain consistency throughout the school day.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing classroom support to students under teacher direction throughout the school day.
- Assisting students with academic tasks, behavior management, and daily routines.
- Supporting individualized learning plans and helping reinforce lesson objectives.
- Monitoring student progress and communicating observations to teachers and staff.
- Maintaining a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment for students.
