Lead Case Manager

Job Overview The Lead Case Manager is responsible for assisting with the oversight, coordination, and daily operations of the case management team. This position provides leadership, guidance, and support to case management staff while ensuring compliance with Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Company, and PREA requirements. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with justice-involved individuals in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities and Duties In coordination with the Associate Director and Program Director, oversees the daily operations and management of the Case Management Department. Supports Human Resources in the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention of qualified staff. Responsible for the supervision, training, development, scheduling, and performance management of a minimum of seven (7) employees. Maintains strict adherence to all Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Company, and PREA policies, procedures, and standards. Provides structure, accountability, and support to clients through effective case management and implementation of Dismas House and BOP policies and procedures. Manages an assigned client caseload and ensures timely, accurate, and compliant documentation of program services and client activities. Conducts individual and group sessions related to program orientation, life skills, and pro-social development. Develops, implements, and monitors approved daily and weekly accountability plans for clients. Provides guidance and support to case managers and clients regarding personal, family, financial, employment, educational, health, crisis intervention, and substance abuse-related matters. Maintains oversight of client files and ensures all required documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted within established timelines. Coordinates and reviews client requests for privileges, including driving, cell phone use, furloughs, and relocation requests. Coordinates release planning activities with the Program Review Team (PRT) and facilitates meetings as assigned. Prepares, reviews, and monitors release plans, release paperwork, terminal reports, and R3M management to ensure compliance and timely completion. Monitors client behavior, program compliance, and operational concerns, escalating issues to appropriate leadership as necessary. Coordinates the Individualized Program Plan (IPP) process with social service coordinators, assigned case managers, clients, family members, and external agencies, as appropriate. Recommends corrective actions, interventions, and sanctions in coordination with the Associate Director. Prepares, reviews, and submits formal incident and violation reports as required. Oversee client participation and status within the Electronic Monitoring Program (EMP). Ensure schedules, inclusion zones, exclusion zones (when applicable), and other EMP settings are accurate, current, and properly maintained within the electronic monitoring system. Reviews the EMP dashboard for assigned caseloads at least once per shift and ensures appropriate follow-up and response to alerts or violations. Conducts and documents weekly case review and timeline meetings with case managers regarding clients assigned to the EMP. As a residential reentry center operating 24/7/365, maintain flexibility to work and cover shifts as needed, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
