Job Title Registered Nurse – NICU / Special Care Nursery (7P–7A) Location Sylva, NC | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed | Rotating Weekends | Onsite Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to neonatal patients in a Special Care Nursery / NICU setting, managing a caseload of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity Care for neonates presenting with common diagnoses including TTN, prematurity, neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS), and feeding difficulties Utilize the Paragon electronic health record (EHR) system to document patient care accurately and thoroughly Float to Mother Baby unit as needed to support staffing requirements Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in a 4-bed unit (surge capacity to 6 beds) to deliver high-quality neonatal care Maintain compliance with all required certifications, including NRP and BLS Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a Level 3 NICU or Level 2 Special Care Nursery Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required Current BLS certification required Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel placement Preferred Experience / Skills Experience in Mother Baby / postpartum nursing Experience catching babies in the delivery setting Flexible, team-oriented personality well-suited to a small, collaborative unit environment Why Join Us Work in a fully accredited acute care facility with a long-standing reputation for clinical excellence, nestled in the scenic foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in western North Carolina Join a close-knit neonatal team in a specialty unit where your skills and flexibility will make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 776200.
