Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to ER patients using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, monitor patient status, and respond to emergencies per orders.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
- Triage and manage high-acuity cases, prioritize interventions, and maintain patient safety and flow in a busy ER.
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record; participate in discharge planning and patient/family education.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise assigned nursing staff, while maintaining a safe, healing environment.

Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice (California)
- BLS certification; CPR/BLS from an approved vendor required
- ACLS and PALS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted)
- Minimum two years of recent ER or acute care nursing experience
- Education: BSN preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced short-term acute care hospital and in a travel assignment
