Our client, a well-established and growing CPA firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join their team due to an upcoming retirement. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned tax professional who enjoys working closely with clients, handling complex tax matters, and serving as a trusted resource for both clients and colleagues.

The ideal candidate will bring 8–10+ years of public accounting and tax preparation experience , an active CPA license , and the confidence and technical expertise to be the firm’s “go-to” person for tax questions and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, partnerships, and corporations.
• Serve as a primary technical resource and go-to tax expert for staff and managers, providing guidance on complex tax questions and issues.
• Research and interpret tax laws, regulations, and changes to ensure accurate and compliant tax filings.
• Review tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to firm and professional standards.
• Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients, identifying opportunities to minimize tax liabilities and maximize overall tax efficiency.
• Develop and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients and serve as a key point of contact for tax-related matters.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced team members.
• Assist with complex tax research, special projects, and client inquiries throughout the year.
• Stay current on changes to federal and state tax regulations and communicate relevant updates to the team and clients.
• Participate in firm initiatives and contribute to the continued growth and development of the tax practice.

Qualifications

• CPA license required.
• 8–10+ years of progressive tax preparation experience , preferably within a public accounting/CPA firm environment.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state taxation.
• Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns.
• Excellent tax research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and client relationship management abilities.
• Ability to confidently answer technical tax questions and serve as a trusted resource for the firm.
• Experience mentoring, training, or providing guidance to other tax professionals.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Office.
