The Psychiatrist will provide assessment and management of patients experiencing a mental health and substance use disorder in an integrated care environment, as well as clinical oversight of the organization’s psychiatric services. Many Providers work alternative work schedules which allow them a day off during the week (i.e., four 10‑hour work days). PRIMARY FUNCTION The Psychiatrist is responsible for the delivery of patient care services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of care to individual patients. PRINCIPLE DUTIES Provide direct services to patients including examination, diagnosis, treatment planning and coordination, and evaluation of progress. Cooperate in promoting the team concept of health care delivery. Available for consultation with other clinicians as needed for patient care and assist in health care planning. Complete notations and charting in a timely manner for prompt claim processing. Collaborate with Medical Director and other provider staff members in development and periodic updating of standards of care, principles of practice, standing orders and/or clinical protocols. As requested, participate with professional and allied health training programs in student and resident rotations. Assist in recruitment and orientation of new staff. As assigned, attend meetings or make presentations to community groups, associations or other health organizations as Health Help’s representative. Maintain specific requirements of licensure and continuing education for practice in Kentucky. Participate in fulfilling Health Help’s mission in meeting the health needs of the community. JOB REQUIREMENTS ACCOUNTABILITY Accountable to the Chief Medical Officer and ultimately the Chief Executive Officer. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS A position exempt from wage and hour laws; requires hours in excess of 40 per week including night and holiday work from time to time. Work is performed in health care environments including medical office, hospital and nursing home with exposure to communicable diseases. Position may include possible exposure to aggressive or violent patients, and requires the ability to work under stressful conditions, often for long periods of time.
