UI/UX Lead

UI/UX Lead (Remote, Part-Time)We're seeking an experienced and creative UI/UX Lead to join our team in a remote, part-time capacity. In this role, you'll collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure user needs and business goals are seamlessly integrated into products—from early concept through final delivery.As the UI/UX Lead, you'll guide and mentor a team of designers to deliver exceptional digital experiences. You'll foster collaboration, cultivate a positive team environment, and champion both product vision and company values while helping drive successful outcomes.You'll also play a key role in research and strategy—leading discovery efforts, documenting insights, and translating user needs into actionable design direction.This is a contract role (up to 20 hours per week), with hours varying based on project needs. We're looking for a long-term partner who is passionate about leading discovery, shaping strategy, and growing with our company.Rate: $40–$85/hour (based experience)Note: This is a contract position and does not include benefits.ResponsibilitiesLead client workshops and discovery sessionsCollaborate with clients to understand business goals and user needsDefine technical and business requirements, delivering intuitive, user-centered solutionsPartner with cross-functional teams to plan and implement design solutionsContinuously improve and optimize existing user interfacesDevelop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for new product ideasTest and validate design concepts before implementationConduct ongoing user research and usability testingDesign, execute, and evaluate studies to improve user experienceDocument findings and translate insights into clear requirements and strategyBuild user scenarios and strategic UX deliverablesMentor, train, and support UI/UX team membersTrack and analyze UX metrics to inform design decisionsPromote collaboration and design excellence across the teamRequirements & Qualifications5+ years of experience in UI/UX design or a related roleStrong portfolio demonstrating UX/UI work and processExperience leading client discovery sessions and workshopsExcellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to clearly articulate and defend design decisionsStrong documentation and organizational skillsDetail-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesDeep understanding of user-centered design, usability, and design thinkingProficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat)Experience with tools such as Sketch, InVision, or similarFamiliarity with CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal), HTML, and CSSMust be based in the United StatesWhy Promet SourcePromet Source brings together talented designers, skilled project managers, and expert developers to create digital experiences that are not only visually compelling, but also highly functional and valuable.We are deeply committed to the open-source community—contributing to projects, building our own tools, and actively participating in conferences and meetups.
