Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg Tele

Orthopedics – Post-Surgical Unit

Shift: 12-hour nights - Weekend requirement: Every other weekend required

Contract Length: 13 weeks - Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week options

Minimum: 2 years clinical experience in Orthopedics

Required certifications: BCLS (BLS), NIH (NIHSS)

Preferred certifications: ACLS

Must have EPIC experience for first-time travelers

Pain management skills (PCA, multimodal analgesia)

Telemetry skills and dysrhythmia recognition

Familiarity with surgical drains and peripheral nerve block catheters is preferred

Provide comprehensive care to orthopedic and spine post-operative patients.

Manage high pain control needs effectively and administer pain medications including PCA.

Monitor patient vitals and recognize dysrhythmias.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care, including PT, RT, and pharmacy.

Ensure thorough documentation and charting using Epic.

Pre-start requirements: EKG testing must be passed before start; additional lab/testing may be required within 48 hours of signing

Up to 7 days auto-approved RTO; no RTO during the first week; additional RTO after signing generally not allowed. Must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
