Job Overview Physical Therapist – IL‑SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital, Mount Vernon Type: Regular; Weekly Hours: 40; Day Shift; Locations: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin. Job Summary Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs to treat movement dysfunction and pain resulting from injury, disease, disability, or other health‑related conditions. Key Responsibilities Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient conditions. Establish, revise, and evaluate individualized plans of care. Perform therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques appropriate to the condition. Provide education to patients, families, and staff regarding educational needs. Participate in discharge planning and provide home instructions, recommendations for equipment, modifications, and appropriate follow‑up care. Supervise physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Maintain appropriate documentation of patient responses and the need for skilled intervention. Work safely and maintain alertness at all times. Perform additional duties as assigned. Education & Experience Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (or related field) required to obtain licensure in the state of practice. No prior experience required; training will be provided. Professional Licensure & Certifications State licensure required: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin (PER). Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) required within 90 days of employment. Other resuscitation certifications may be required depending on department. Physical Requirements Constant standing, frequent walking, reaching, gripping, keyboard use, and data entry. Lifting/carrying objects weighing 0–25 lbs frequently; 25–50 lbs occasionally. Occasional patient handling (lifting). Occasional driving and other tasks. Benefits & Compensation Pay Range: $41.45 – $62.18 per hour. Benefits include: Competitive, affordable health insurance.
