As a Floating Residential Manager , you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment that fosters communication, well-being, empowerment, and support for the individuals served by the program.
You will be responsible for the overall management of the residential site you supervise and all employees working at the site. You will provide direct supervision to site employees, including Direct Support Professionals. you may support other regional programs as needed.
The Residential Manager is included in the required staffing ratio and will serve as a role model for employees by demonstrating how job responsibilities should be performed, maintaining a professional and positive attitude, and modeling appropriate interactions with individuals receiving services and other professionals.
Your responsibilities may include:
Staff Supervision- Provide frontline supervision to all employees assigned to the residential site.
- Meet regularly with each site employee to provide supervision, skill training, coaching, and mentoring that supports professional development.
- Document and address identified employee training or performance improvement needs.
- Manage site scheduling, including callouts, no-shows, time-off requests, and coverage needs.
- Provide direct program coverage when needed to maintain appropriate staffing levels and continuity of services.
- Interview Direct Support Professional candidates and make recommendations regarding potential new hires.
- Participate in and attend planning meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings for each individual supported.
- Model professional conduct and appropriate interactions with individuals receiving services, employees, families, and other professionals.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, communication, and consistent implementation of program requirements.
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations by notifying the appropriate individuals and completing and submitting required incident reports.
- Immediately report medical concerns to unit leadership and the agency nurse, as appropriate.
- Develop and coordinate monthly activities for individuals supported by the program.
- Ensure that planned activities are implemented and that required funds and resources are available.
- Oversee the daily management of the residential unit and site in accordance with each individual’s Individualized Service Plan or treatment plan.
- Ensure that individuals receive the supervision, assistance, and support outlined in their plans.
- Help maintain a safe, healthy, respectful, and person-centered living environment.
- Encourage community participation, personal choice, independence, and progress toward individual goals.
- Support effective communication among employees, individuals receiving services, families, leadership, and other members of the support team.
- Manage, monitor, document, and reconcile all site-related and individual-related expenditures.
- Oversee the maintenance, cleanliness, upkeep, and safety of the physical residence.
- Monitor the condition, maintenance, and safe operation of site vehicles.
- Report required repairs, maintenance needs, safety concerns, and site conditions to the Unit Director.
- Monitor and ensure the accurate and timely completion of all required site documentation.
- Review logs, medication records, inventories, incident reports, assessments, progress notes, vehicle logs, and other required records.
- Communicate documentation concerns, operational issues, compliance concerns, and other identified problems directly to the Program Director.
- Ensure that the residence is prepared for state licensing visits and other required inspections.
- Maintain the readiness and organization of individual files, medication records, program documentation, and the physical site.
- Support compliance with applicable regulations, agency policies, program procedures, and quality standards.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of managerial experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs in a group home setting.
- Two years DDD licensing non-provisional
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable regulations, Advancing Opportunities, Inc. values, and program policies and procedures.
- Basic computer and internet literacy.
- Ability to use email, electronic timekeeping systems, and other applications required to enter and retrieve job-related information.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Access to a personal vehicle with at least the minimum automobile liability insurance coverage required by the state.
- Ability to successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings, including FBI clearance when applicable.
- Ability to successfully complete a physical examination and tuberculosis screening.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and provide coverage based on the operational needs of the residential program.

- The Floating Residential Manager may be required to provide direct program coverage as part of the staffing ratio in several regional programs.
