Hospital Medicine - Days/Evenings - Physician - Albany

Job Title Medical Coder - Primary Care or Family Medicine Location Albany, New York (on-site) – Telecommute available from any U.S. location. Primary Responsibilities Assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and official coding guidelines for outpatient hospital professional accounts. Assign CPT and ICD‑10 codes. Monitor assigned work queues to ensure all records are charged and coded in a timely manner. Generate coding queries for clarification regarding physician documentation as needed. Stay abreast of all changes in coding conventions and updates. Manage a significant workload and work efficiently under pressure, meeting established deadlines with minimal supervision. Complete moderate‑level tasks independently while higher‑level tasks receive supervision. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (or higher). Professional CPC coder certification with credentialing from AHIMA and/or AAPC, maintained annually. At least 3 years of experience in a Medical Coder position, specifically in Primary Care or Family Medicine. Medicine specialty experience. Proficiency with inpatient coding experience (preferred).
