Riverside County Sheriff's Office is recruiting for Correctional Deputy and Deputy Sheriff - Lateral and Pre‑Service candidates to be assigned throughout Riverside County. Correctional Deputy I: $30.52-$37.14 hourly; $5,290.53-$6,437.31 monthly; $63,486.36-$77,247.77 annually. Correctional Deputy II: $30.52-$37.14 hourly; $5,290.53-$6,437.31 monthly; $63,486.36-$77,247.77 annually. Deputy Sheriff: $42.35-$64.75 hourly; $7,340.41-$11,223.90 monthly; $88,084.95-$134,686.79 annually. Correctional Deputy Eligibility Must possess a California Standards and Training for Corrections (STC) – Adult Corrections Officer Core Course Certification. Correctional Deputy Lateral: Currently working as a correctional deputy or equivalent in a California adult correctional facility, has passed probationary period, and has the STC certification. Correctional Deputy Pre‑Service: Holds the STC Adult Corrections Officer Core Course Certification and is not currently working in a law enforcement agency. Note: California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation applicants are not being accepted as Pre‑Service or Lateral candidates at this time. Deputy Sheriff Eligibility Must possess a California Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification or a California POST waiver received from another state. Deputy Sheriff Lateral: Currently working as a sworn peace officer for a California law enforcement agency, has passed the probationary period, and holds the Basic POST Certificate. Deputy Sheriff Pre‑Service: Graduated from a California POST‑certified academy, holds an active POST certification, and is not currently working as a sworn California peace officer. Deputy Sheriff – Out of State: Out‑of‑state candidates with a basic academy certification from another state may contact CA POST for a POST waiver letter. Only the POST waiver is accepted as valid. POST or equivalent certifications from other states are not accepted. Education and Licensure High school graduation, possession of a Certificate of Proficiency issued by the California State Board of Education, or a satisfactory score on a GED examination. Valid California Driver's License. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law.
