In this role, you will help ensure surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are processed, organized, and available to support exceptional patient care. Responsibilities Clean, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment Operate autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilization systems Monitor sterilization logs and maintain accurate documentation Prepare and restock surgical trays and sterile supplies Maintain organized, sterile inventory and storage areas Complete routine equipment cleaning and maintenance Follow infection prevention and safety protocols Collaborate with surgeons, technicians, and hospital staff Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 1 year of experience in veterinary healthcare, human healthcare, surgical, dental, or sterile processing environments Demonstrated experience with sterile technique, aseptic protocols, and surgical instrument handling Experience cleaning, preparing, assembling, packaging, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment Understanding of proper instrument care, handling, storage, and maintenance to preserve instrument integrity and functionality Experience working with sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and related processing systems Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team Preferred Specialty or surgical veterinary experience Familiarity with advanced surgical instrumentation and specialty procedures Knowledge of OSHA, AAHA, infection prevention, and safety protocols Interest in specialty medicine and continued professional development Why Join VHA?
