Job Description Job Title: Auditing Internship Department: Auditing FLSA: Non-Exempt We have an auditing internship position available at the Hy-Vee Corporate Office in West Des Moines, Iowa. The internship will be from mid- May through mid-August in 2027. This Monday through Friday paid position will be 40 hours per week with the potential for occasional overtime. Time off for the holidays will be offered along with flexibility in the schedule to allow for more free time if needed. General Function Assists with financial, operational and compliance audits of the corporate office, subsidiaries and retail locations to determine adherence of policy, procedures and regulations. Assists in the presentation and review of audit findings with members of management. This position requires a basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, attention to detail, and accuracy. Reporting Relations Accountable and Reports to: AVP, Auditing Positions that Report to you: None Primary Duties and Responsibilities Work alongside upper-level accounting and auditing staff Perform auditing procedures and test of transactions for the following areas: cash disbursements, cash receipts, payroll, benefit plan, and 401(k) Perform store and inventory audits with our Internal Auditors Perform financial statement audit work at one or more of our subsidiary locations Perform internal control reviews of various processes Exposure to other special projects as assigned Attend monthly Accounting Department Meetings Internship Highlights Visit various Hy-Vee supply chain and manufacturing facilities that contribute to the overall retail grocery business line Weekly intern meetings with various members of accounting department leadership group including the Controller, Chief Revenue Officer, and Chief Financial Officer Attend annual Go Big Show event where operations meet with vendors highlighting products for the upcoming holiday season Attend scheduled lunches with various members of the accounting staff Attend annual all-accounting department summer outing Attend all-Hy-Vee intern socials to network with interns across Hy-Vee's entire networ Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum of two years of relevant college education and working towards a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting.
